Walking the Camino Goes Global

head1

img1Walking the Camino has gone global! As you may have seen on our Facebook, Lydia recently embarked on a week-long fundraising tour of the Camino Finesterre that ultimately concluded in our European Premiere at the Festival Cine y Tele Camino de Santiago at the beautiful Hotel San Francisco Monumento. The hotel generously hosted the screening and donated some rooms. They truly embody the spirit of the Camino and we encourage you all to splurge and stay there when you arrive in Santiago. You won’t regret it!

img2The trip to Spain was a fantastic experience. Essentially, it served as a mini reunion for many that were involved on the shoot, including a few of our featured pilgrims! To hold our European Premiere in the Santiago de Compostela, just down the street from the Cathedral de Santiago, was a pretty surreal and beautiful moment for everyone involved. We were thrilled to take home “Best Documentary” at the festival (with the most beautiful statue imaginable!), making it the fourth award we have won in five festivals!

Coming up we are very excited to take part of Galway Film Fleadh (Festival) in Galway Ireland! Lydia will be attending this screening, and it will be her first time in Ireland. With only one week left until her departure, we are busy working on getting everything ready for her, meanwhile promoting our screening. We are also excited to be playing in the “Cinemobile,” which is a giant mobile theatre that will be situated at the Courthouse Square next to the Town Hall Theater in Galway. If you are in Ireland and can make the screening, please let us know! The showtime is Sunday, July 14th at 2pm.

Immediately following the screening at Galway Film Fleadh, Lydia will be traveling to Southern California to attend the Topanga Film Festival. We were so excited to receive an invitation to this festival, which is now in its seventh year. This is a special place for Lydia, as she lived in Topanga for 11 years. We will be showing on July 20th at 4pm at the Rosewood Theater.

These are the only screenings we have confirmed at the moment, and we will let you know as soon as we have more. Please help us spread the word and let your friends in Ireland, the UK, and Los Angeles know. Please keep checking our website and Facebook for future events and details on screenings!

As always, it is so important for us to have your support in every step we take. The making of this film has only been possible thanks to the well wishes and donations from fellow Camino lovers all over the globe. We are so proud of the product we are putting out in to the world, and look forward to the day when it will be accessible to people everywhere.

¡Buen Camino!

  1. I am so pleased that the film has gone global; although I do hope that Australasia will follow for the folks down under.

Congratulations on being able to show the film in all the film festivals (especially in Europe).

    Keep on going!!!
