Sally’s Notes from the Camino Walking Tour, Day 2

We all woke up this morning refreshed from an amazing night’s night’s sleep in our wonderful beautiful rural “casa,” Casa de Bola. We are all now refreshed and ready to start day two! But first we have to talk about last night’s incredible dinner!

We drove through the amazing countryside to arrive and at yet another gorgeous stone Galician casa, but which is typical, 17th century exterior but 21st century interior – Casa De Suarez. We were in a converted barn on the 2nd floor in a private dining room! Our lovely hostess, Bea, treated us to a sumptuous feast. We had lovely typical torta with sardines followed by surprise tin filled with a pepper and seafood. Then we moved on to croqetas de Ibérico, almejas de Carril (clams) with our last main: oxtail with homemade potato chips… All was sourced locally in Galicia and organic. Pretty much an amazing way to start our first night out on the trail! Whoops! I almost forgot the final touch: tiramisù! An incredible feast on par with or better than anything I have had in Paris!

…More to come…gentle rain this morning, ready to get started!
¡Buen Camino!
